In June 2008, the operator at the Hydro Electric Station in Poděbrady, Czech Republic, was kind enough to let Karel and I inside to take some pictures, and explain the inner workings. This station is a classic and has been producing power for the area for almost 100 years (since 1919?). It was built on the river Labe with the help of Italian POWs during the First World War.
